Jefferson Park lies to the south of the Highland neighborhood, overlooking Downtown Denver from its perch across I-25. The general boundaries are I-25, Speer Boulevard, Federal Boulevard, West Colfax Avenue. Views east from Jefferson Park take in Six Flags Elitch Gardens, The Children’s Museum, Colorado Ocean Journey and other destination attractions in Downtown’s Central Platte Valley. Downtown Denver and the Central Platte Valley are quickly accessed from Jefferson Park, using the 23rd Street overpass on I-25 and Water Street.

Jefferson Park is marked by a variety of housing styles and architecture from various eras. Single family homes from the early 20th century stand next to apartment complexes built in the 1950s and 1960s. The primary retail corridor is Federal Boulevard, the neighborhood’s western boundary. The neighborhood has approximately 2,760 residents.
Jefferson Park is named for the 6.7-acre park located on West 23rd Avenue and Clay Street in the heart of the neighborhood. The park is on the site of an old city dump that was filled in and landscaped in the early 1900s. INVESCO Field at Mile High also lies on the neighborhood’s south side.
Another neighborhood anchor in Jefferson Park is the Fred Thomas Career Education Center, an innovative high school run by Denver Public Schools that provides vocational and professional programs for 700 Denver students.
