Video Tour of Bonnie Brae Neighborhood

The Bonnie Brae neighborhood is characterized by many different styles of Victorian Architecture, including Cape Cod, English Tudor, and Denver Square.

Bonnie Brae also includes residences built in the Art Moderne architectural style of the 1930s, which utilized bands of highly-polished materials and glazed terra cotta, and the International style of modern architecture, which focuses on asymmetrical composition. Denver’s Bonnie Brae neighborhood originated in 1923. Bonnie Brae, whose name in Gaelic means “Pleasant Hill,” was originally designed to look like a small Scottish village. The neighborhood is largely composed of curvy streets. Bonnie Brae has its own small district of quaint shops and restaurants located directly on University Boulevard south of Cherry Creek but north of DU and Washington Park.
